Such a risky mix of media (charcoal, oil, ink, photograph) would usually end up quite a mess in the wrong hands. However, with your sensitive care Montse, those materials have been successfully combined to create a very accomplished piece. I'm sure Esperanza was delighted with her portrait. For me the work exudes the riches of memory that can only be told by they who lived those times.
Thanks for your nice comment. Sorry that I have not answered before but I have had a lot of work. I think the great humanity of Esperanza gets expressed even in clumsy hands. Do you know that Esperanza means Hope? This portrait is part of a series that I left unfinished. I am working in a very different project that has absorbed me the last year. Lately, however, tempts me to retake it and give satisfaction to what I call “my other personality". Fortunately, my emotional involvement in these portraits makes the project is still alive in me. Thanks for remind it to me :)
