I like the combination of fun and irony in this piece. Two elements that aren't always easy to find together in a successful artwork. Although it looks so easy to do, I get the impression this springs from a well of "lived-in" spontaneity as opposed to the result of a thought-out methodology.
there aint no greys around here baby - like the man said what George believes on Monday he still believes on Wednesday - no matter what happened on Tuesday
Is that the american character - b/w, mountain-high/river-deep, cowboy and indian, good 'n bad way of looking at our world? Your work suggests to me (that is, I interpret it as) we're right to be more anxious over what they do, than to fear any refugee camp dweller who feels the only way to fight back is to blow themselves up? That's a pretty black statement in itself and maybe suggests we ought to be looking instead at the shades of grey for some solution. Not sure if I'm taking liberties with your work here, but it's thought-provoking and I'd just like to add my two cents. Thanks. /j-p.
